Overview

At this point, your little baby is now experiencing REM, which stands for rapid eye moment, sleep. This indicates that they are now dreaming. Such an amazing accomplishment for the baby at this point of pregnancy!

Also during the 28th week of pregnancy, your baby is now capable of blinking. They are shut tight, but they can open and close them on their own.

Another thing that will be happening this week is making faces. Fetuses are known to stick out their tongues at this age. It is also possible that your baby is now tasting your amniotic fluid.

28 Weeks Pregnant In Months

28 weeks pregnant means that you are in the 7th month of your pregnancy. This means that there are only 2 months left to go before that baby of yours arrive and brings joy to your world along with your partners’.

Baby Is Dreaming

At this point, your baby is dreaming about you. That is true and it has been proven. Brain wave activity that was measured in a developing fetus shows different sleep cycles along with the rapid eye movement phase.

Braxton-Hicks Contractions

At this point of pregnancy and Baby development, the Braxton-hicks contractions are pretty common. They are also known as practice contractions. These usually start in your third trimester and will start to intensify closer as your delivery time gets closer. During these contractions, the muscles of your uterus will tighten for around 30 to 60 seconds. Some of them could also last for around 2 minutes.

No matter what week you will be in, there are going to be symptoms. At week 28, here are the most common ones that you will be experiencing:

  2. Vaginal discharge that has blood
  3. Smelling vaginal discharge
  4. Pain in chest
  5. Extreme abdominal pain
  6. Extreme pelvis pain

What To Do

At this point, you should be talking with your doctor about every possible scenario. It is important for you to know what could happen and what you want to do in case something bad happens.

Also, you want to keep attending your doctor appointments and start to do breathing exercises at this point. These are 2 important things that you want to do. Exercise well, eat well, drink plenty of water, and stay calm.
